About SouthShore Chiropractic and Natural Wellness Center
OUR STORY
SouthShore Chiropractic was founded in 1965 by Dr. Jay Fewell and it has been a hub of Chiropractic and Wellness innovation ever since.
In 1978 Dr. Dennis Greenlee took over the practice. Dr. Greenlee helped pioneer the use of electric muscle and nerve stimulation with devices like the MyoMatic which is a microcurrent therapy. Combining traditional Chiropractic and Acupuncture techniques and principles with a focus on total body health and wellness, the practice has seen a steady flow of happy patients for decades.
In 1990 the practice was joined by Dr. David Miner who adopted many of Dr. Greenlee’s techniques and philosophies. Dr. Miner eventually took over the practice entirely and developed his own unique approach to total body wellness and nutritional coaching. He has helped many people recover from auto accidents, construction accidents, chronic back and neck pain, joint and spine problems, as well as metabolic health problems.
SouthShore Chiropractic and Natural Wellness Center serves the entire Redwood Empire and Napa and Sonoma Wine Country. Some patients visit from as far away as San Francisco, Marin, and Mendocino Counties.

UNDERSTANDING THE TREATMENTS WE USE IN OUR OFFICE
Chiropractic Manipulation
- Reduces Pain
- Restores Joint Motion
- Balances Muscles
How? Say you have a low back injury. The nerves in the joints send messages to the brain saying it isn’t right. The brain sends messages back to the muscles telling them to lock the joint down until it heals.
The muscles get short and tight on one side of your back and stretched out on the other side. This causes pain in the muscles and puts a painful strain on the joints and ligaments. This is called a ‘Subluxation’.
Dr. Miner performs joint manipulation or an ‘adjustment’ to free up the movement of the joint.
The ‘adjustment’ restores the proper motion to the joint, resets the nerves, and causes the muscles to relax.
There are several types of manipulation used to treat patients. The old tried and true hands-on adjustment is the best treatment for many. It has been used for many hundreds of years with great, safe results. But there are those who for different reasons may not be able to take the ‘crack-em’ adjustments.
Dr. Miner uses several different low force techniques, also with great results. Be sure to tell us your preferences.
